It's been quite a nice day today. First of all, I've just had a new illo published in Wyborcza. The caption can be roughly translated as: "What's wrong with you? Did you get off on the wrong foot?" It's not a perfect translation but I think it will do here.

Good 50x70 - Tiger is Dead

.

"I used to believe in forever, but forever is too good to be true," said Winnie-the-Pooh one day and though this quote did not refer to tigers, I believe that it perfectly illustrates what might happen to those animals soon. Therefore, I came up with the idea of creating a piece which would look like a new Pooh movie poster because I believe that using strong images might attract people's attention and make them think about social issues for a while. I did this poster for this year's Good 50x70 (the brief endorsed by WWF was about raising attention to wild tiger population decline). The piece has not been chosen by the jury but I quite like it so I thought I would post it here.

Stripdagen - De Kampensche School

Last week two of my works were exhibited at the show which was a part of Stripdagen in Haarlem, Holland. As this year's main theme of the comic book days was the former USSR and the surrounding Eastern-European nations, I was invited to show two of my works there. The idea of the project organized by De Kampensche School was to lock themselves in the Nieuwe Vide artspace and create pieces based on the works of the invited artists as well as other Eastern European items.

W ostatni weekend dwie moje prace zostały pokazane na wystawie będącej częścią holenderskich dni komiksu Stripdagen w Haarlem. W związku z tym, że tematem przewodnim imprezy było ZSSR i kraje bloku wschodniego, zaproszono mnie do pokazania swoich prac. Wystawa została zorganizowana przez grupę artystyczną De Kampensche School, która przez kilka dni zamknięta w przestrzeni artystycznej Nieuwe Vide tworzyła prace inspirowane ilustracjami zaproszonych twórców, jak również wszystkim tym, co wschodnioeuropejskie.
